MONTEVIDEO, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Barcelona striker Luis Suarez scored one goal and set up another as Uruguay warmed up for the World Cup in Russia with a 3-0 friendly victory over Uzbekistan here on Thursday.

Midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta opened the scoring at the Estadio Centenario by thumping in a first-time effort after Suarez's neat control and pass.

Suarez doubled Uruguay's lead from the penalty spot following Rustamjon Ashurmatov's hand ball just before the hour mark.

Atletico Madrid central defender Jose Gimenez then made it 3-0 with a powerful header connecting a Carlos Sanchez corner.

Uruguay will begin their World Cup campaign against Egypt on June 15 before facing Saudi Arabia and Russia in Group A.
